According to Christians, Jesus Christ is the son of God. About 2018 years ago, he was sent down to earth to die for the sins of human beings. The story of him coming on earth has been around for a very long time ever since before he was born. This is according to the bible. Sure enough, after his birth, both Son of God and his parents had to flee from Israel to keep him safe. This is because the reigning king wanted to kill the new king he had heard of. According to matthew 2:14-15 God brought them back to Israel after King Herod was dead and no longer posed a threat to Son of God.
He was born in Bethlehem. Micah 5:2 says that although Bethlehem was one of the smallest among the clans of Judah, there would be a great ruler to come from there. Even when asked, the chief priests and teachers of the law foretold that Son of God was to be given birth in Bethlehem. This is as indicated on the book of Mathew 2:4-6.
The whole purpose of Jesus coming into the world was to save humankind from the sins they had been led into by the devil. He was to destroy the work of the devil as indicated on 1st John 3:18. The enmity between God and the devil came about when the devil influenced the woman to sin and getting sent away from the garden of Eden. According to Genesis 3:15.
People used to place all of their sins on a blemish-free animal, mostly purely white colored and then sacrifice it to God as a way of repenting. This is according to Exodus 12:5. However, Son of God came to the world to take on the sins of every human being. He was a sinless soul and was, therefore, the ultimate sacrifice. Hebrews 9:14.
