I advise you not to take this issue lightly, because if you do, Stress may impact you when you are least prepared.

Can relaxation or workout assist in controlling stress?

It has principally been recognized that activities like massage, relaxation, exercise etc. can cause a reduction in stress levels. Unfortunately, you may have noticed that despite your efforts at using some of these strategies effectively, it's been impossible to manage to keep your toxic stress level down.

More or less like a yoyo, you go to the gym or adopt relaxation tactics just to realize that the levels of stress soon starts to seep up vertically once again. So you return to your stress decreasing activity to discover that the cycle goes on and on. In case you struggle with stress, I'm absolutely sure you recognize what I am sharing.

Our mind-set plays a really important role in the habitual results of destructive stress.

Please, don't assume that I'm suggesting that you drop all those stress reducing activities you may very well be using. On the contrary, I recommend that these activities are genuinely beneficial.

Unknowingly, for many, the mastermind behind any experience of toxic stress is our mind-set.

My suggested resolution of this problem is this. Use relaxing and calming strategies, but use them in connection with tactics that assist to re-structure way in which you generally interpret things.

With these mind-set skills you will be in the position to note the mental effects of stress and stop stress before it can have an impact on you.

The way wee see things can add a variety of complexities to coping.

I remember one frozen winter's day as I was strolling from my vehicle going to my workplace. All I could see was slippery cold ice. I found myself more or less slipping with every step.

I recall seeing a flashing image of myself, in my mind, slipping and smacking my head on a stone. I grabbed the nearest thing i could find and held on tightly. I certainly didn't want to die.

Then it happened...

I noticed this kid who was probably17 years old skiing on top of the ice. His hands behind his back moving calmly and elegantly across the ice, one foot after another in a skating fashion. He had no concern for the ice at all.

In my amazement, I smiled at him pretending I was not afraid and watched him go by. What was interesting regarding this was that I knew how to Ice skate and i have been to the ice ring on many occasion. So I decided to copy the boy.

As soon as I made this decision, the icy, threatening road became a harmless puppy. Ice skating was obviously a skill I already owned. All it took was for me to grasp this and apply the skill.

This story suggests an effective approach for managing stress. You see, the manner in which we deal with any challenging environments we are threatened by is entirely decided by how vulnerable we feel towards those situations and our impressions of just how well equipped we are to handle the situations.

Taking time to look at the larger picture, could help us realise that we actually possess the capability to manage those situations.
