Just like with IQ, it is equally important to enhance the EQ since ti enhances our emotional capacity and makes us developed stronger and better relationships while improving ourselves to be good individuals. Know yourself. The start to have a good EQ is to raise your self awareness thru deep understanding of your real self, the things you love and the things you hate. Make an effort to reflect on your past experience, values, developments, strong and weak points and many more. Do this regularly, but not too fast. Take things slow until you have learned everything you need to know.

Open yourself to feedback and also criticism. Not all feedback are good and positive. Sometimes they hurt and could even confuse you in so many ways. By simply observing all your thoughts and even feelings without clouded and bad judgment, its likely for your awareness to develop over time. On top of that, you could even achieve clarity rather than confused thoughts. That said, mindfulness can help you have a better EQ.

Celebrate every positive emotion. People who often learn to celebrate and also appreciate their optimism could achieve resilience and would even have smart response despite the depressing scenarios that they face. They could quickly think of good decisions too. However, this might take a lot of patience and time, so have some inspiration along the way.

Emphatize. Learn to think of others sometimes. Although you might want to think only of yourself on almost every occasion, consider what others feel and think as well. Perhaps by exercising this kind of attitude, you would know the right things to say and the best things to do.
