The most important details include the new vocabulary, the main ideas, and the answers to questions. Now you read at fast as you can comprehend. Write down any new vocabulary words. Generally, 80% of learning a new topic is learning the vocabulary. Next write down the headings, and sub-headings found in each chapter. Finally, you want to write down each of the questions in the text. Questions that are in the chapter, as well as questions that are at the end of the chapter should both be written down.

Your last step is to write the following information: in your own words. Writing it in your words is the critical part to improving your comprehension.
